Nurse’s assistance to children and adolescents in a situation of sexual violence

Objective
To describe nursing care for children and teenagers in situations of sexual violence based on an narrative literature review.
Methods
Descriptive-exploratory research with a qualitative approach. The databases selected for the search for scientific articles were BDENF and LILACS. The inclusion criteria were articles available in full, in Portuguese, available online for free, in the period 2007 – 2019. And the exclusion criteria were inaccessible or repeated articles and articles that did not address the research theme.
Results
Psychological, physical and behavioral sequelae were evidenced. The nurse’s assistance is based on anamnesis and physical examination, observing the child’s suggestive and behavioral signs.
Conclusion
It was concluded that it is necessary to train professionals for the assistance and notification of child sexual violence and to raise awareness among the target audience and their guardians about the theme for preventing violence.
